 Sharks
have had a rough time at the hands of
human overexploitation. They
are in desperate need of conservation and protection.
To become a part of this effort and to augment my footage on
sharks from
other locations such as Cocos Island, I am leading an
expedition to Walker’s
Cay, Bahamas with my research team from GHRI. There are several species
of sharks found around Walker’s Cay, making it an ideal location.
I want to get very close to my subject, which will be achieved by feeding
the sharks in the famous Walker’s Cay shark rodeo.
In addition to the numerous caribbean reef sharks, I
hope to encounter blacktip
sharks, bull sharks, lemon sharks and nurse sharks. Scientists
from the Guy Harvey Research Institute will be attempting
to take biopsies
from caribbean reef sharks using new methods and technology…
